Iran successfully put Chamran 1 research satellite into orbit

Iran, on Saturday, successfully launched the domestically-made research satellite dubbed Chamran 1 into space using Ghaem-100 carrier.


According to Qom News, on Saturday morning, Chamran 1 was placed at an orbit of 550 km using the Ghaem-100 satellite carrier, a solid-fueled space launch vehicle (SLV) developed by the Islamic Revolution Gauds Corps (IRGC) aerospace experts.

The spacecraft which weighs about 60 kg sent its first signals after several hours into the launch.

Chamran-1 research satellite has been designed and built by Iranian technicians at the space division of Iran Electronics Industries (SAIran), a state-owned subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Defense, in conjunction with experts at the Aerospace Research Institute (ARI) and private knowledge-based firms.
