Qomnews : Iranian Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi said here on Monday that Tehran and Tashkent signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of the SCO FMs meeting in Tashkent.
Referring to his visit to Uzbekistan for the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) FMs meeting in Tashkent, Vahidi told IRNA on Monday that Tehran and Tashkent signed a memorandum of understanding ( MOU) on the sidelines of the meeting to broaden mutual cooperation on security affairs.
He said that for Iran's permanent membership at SCO, it is necessary for the Islamic Republic of Iran to actively participate in these meetings.
Iran was accepted as a permanent member at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of States Summit held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on September 17, 2021, upon a proposal by China.
The fourth formal meeting of SCO FMs meeting was held in July, 2022 in Uzbekistan's capital of Tashkent.
