During a telephone conversation on Thursday morning, Amirabdollahian held talks with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein.

Amirabdollahian emphasized taking serious measures for easing the entry of Iranian pilgrims to Iraq via land and air, as well as facilitating the entry of Afghan and Pakistani nations who want to travel to Iraq via Iranian soil.

Fuad Hussein, for his part, promised to pursue the issue aimed at facilitating the entry of pilgrims to Iraq for Arbaeen rituals.

Referring to the recent visit of the Iranian Interior Minister to Baghdad, he said that this visit was a suitable and good opportunity to closely follow the relevant affairs and establishment of necessary coordination in this respect.

In response to the question asked by the Iranian foreign minister, Fuad Hussein pointed to his recent talk with his Saudi counterpart regarding the cooperation for the release of detained Iranian citizens during the Hajj pilgrimage and expressed hope for releasing Iranian citizens as soon as possible.

The two sides also discussed the latest trend of negotiations for the removal of anti-Iran sanctions.
