Qomnews : In the central province of Qom, a large number of people including foreign seminary students performed Eid al-Adha prayers, which marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The prayer of Eid al-Adha was performed on Thursday in the 'Holy Shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh(PBUH) ', led by Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeedi, the Holy Shrine's custodianship.
Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (PBUH) is the daughter of Imam Musa Kazem (PBUH) and sister of Imam Reza (PBUH), the seventh and eighth Shia Imams, respectively.
Eid al-Adha is one of Islam’s holiest festivals celebrated around the world.
It honors Prophet Abraham’s acknowledgment of a divine order to sacrifice his son. Upon submitting to God’s will, Ibrahim was exempted from performing the order and was offered a ram to sacrifice instead.
Muslims around the world celebrate the festival, which comes as the annual Hajj season in Saudi Arabia draws to a close, by sacrificing livestock to be distributed among the needy.
