Special measures taken to welcome spring arrival in Qom
He stated that in this regard, we have put special cleaning and environmental adaptation on the agenda, including massive garbage collection.
The municipality official went on to mention some other measures in this field and said that the installation of spring elements in order to beautify the environment, pruning trees, and preparing the entrances of the region have been among other measures in this area.
“We are trying to create a beautiful, suitable, and spring atmosphere for the citizens in the new year,” he made the remarks touching upon street paintings all around the city.
International Day of Nowruz is a global observance and a public holiday in some countries, such as Iran. About 300 million people worldwide celebrate Nowruz, especially in the Middle East, Central and South Asia, the Black Sea and Caspian Sea regions, the Caucasus, and even the Balkans.
Based on the joint recommendation of Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan in 2010, Nowruz was added to the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
