Referring to the extensive measures that have been taken over the last 6 years to reduce the use of drinking water to irrigate the green space of the city, Payam Javadian said obtaining permits for the use of wells, creating several reservoirs for raw water management, integrating the raw water network of green space, and using wastewater were among the great steps that have been taken.

Javadian emphasized the significant role of green space development in creating urban freshness, saying with the development of green space and increasing the density of trees, the temperature decreases and this reduces the use of water resources in the long term.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the municipal official called for the cooperation and participation of all the related organizations for the development of green space, adding that Qom Municipality has recently spent a lot of money in this regard and paid special attention to separate the raw water network from drinking water as well as optimize the consumption of this network.

The head of Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization went on to say that raw water of green space study plan in Qom is being prepared and approved, saying according to this plan, drinking water will be completely separated from the raw water.

He finally reiterated that developing raw water network has always been on the agenda of the municipality and will be finalized in the meeting with the city’s Regional Water Organization, noting 20 million cubic meters of green space water is now supplied from non-drinking sources.
